Character info
Series/Fandom: Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon
Character's Name: Michiru Kaioh / Sailorneptune
Character's Sex: Female
Character's Age: 18
Canon point: Post-manga.

Abilities:
Michiru Kaioh is a soul dedicated primarily to the arts. She plays the violin (which she has named Marine Cathèdrale) at a nationally recognized level, having toured around the world for various concerts, as well as putting out her own CDs, and has paintings featured in various museums and art shows. She is also quite the swimmer, being that water is her element, and can even give Ami Mizuno a run for her ice cream money in the pool.

In her possession, she holds one of the three talismans, hers being the Deep Aqua Mirror. With its help, she is capable of catching brief glimpses of enemies, where allies are, as well as sometimes answering questions that she may have in regards to a situation. To an extent, it is also capable of astral projection, so that she can communicate with others. Of course, these abilities will be kept in check so that they are not game breaking.

As a sailorsenshi, Michiru transforms into Sailor Neptune, with the power of her Sailor Crystal, and the phrase, "Neptune Crystal Power, Make Up!" In this form, she has a few 'magical' abilities at her disposal;

Deep Submerge → compacts the force of a tidal wave into a planet-shaped sphere, which she hurls at the enemy.
Submarine Reflection" → is an attack involving her talisman, which releases a burst of energy at her targets through its glass.
Submarine Violon Tide → in which she uses a violin, creating a violent tide of energy towards her opponent. Also, her targets interestingly comment that it feels as though their heads will split...
Sailor Planet Attack / Lending power to Sailormoon → is an ability all of the planetary senshi seem to possess, but only when they come together to join all of their powers as one.
Sailor Teleport → together with the other sailorsenshi, they are able to cross dimensions and even space in order to confront various enemies.

Strengths:
Michiru has a strong affinity towards the sea, and water in general. She often notes that "the sea feels restless" and seems to get other similar "feelings" of that nature where her element is concerned. It's almost as though she can sense that nature is trying to tell her something, even if she can't make sense of it at that exact moment in time (good thing she's got that Aqua Mirror on her side. Heh). She is very strong willed, and also has great endurance as a paopu soldier. She can take a significant beating while still trying to appear calm on the outside, even if she's in a great deal of pain. She just simply doesn't stop when someone that she cares about is in danger.

Usually quite even-tempered, she often serves as a voice of reason when emotions get the best of some of the others. She does not falter easily, and can even be considered a source of strength for some of the others, should they need it. As a member of the Outer Senshi, she is considered somewhat of a role model for the others while they are still learning who they are, themselves.

Weaknesses:
Having lived in a cold, lonely place in the Silver Millennium, separated from the other soldiers, Michiru has developed a strong mentality of working alone (with the other Outer Planetary Senshi), and is not quick to ask others for assistance, even if its needed. She is stubborn in this way, wanting to solve the worlds problems on her own instead of getting the Princess involved. The Princess herself is also a big weakness, being that she would do just about anything to ensure Usagi's safety. If anything were to happen to Usagi, she would never be able to forgive herself.

And of course, perhaps her other greatest weakness, without a doubt, is her partner, Haruka, Sailoruranus. This is someone she would go to any lengths to save, perhaps equal to, if not even more so than her Princess. Neptune would sooner give her own life than see any harm come to Uranus, which is a huge achilles heal in the world of planetary and galactic battles. Unfortunately, she has virtually no defensive abilities, and often has to resort to other means (read; her own body) in order to protect others.

Also, being that Neptune is the planet of the sea, and Michiru primarily uses water attacks, its only natural that she would have a weakness to fire and fire based attacks.

Appearance:

Personality:
Often, when people first meet Michiru, their first reaction is that she seems to be a vision of the "perfect princess." She is well mannered and polite, well versed in social etiquette, and having toured around the world, is also very well cultured. She is graceful and refined, all of her movements seem to have an elegant flow to them. Having attended Infinity Academy, the genius school, its obvious that she is quite intelligent, especially since her and her partner infiltrated with the purpose of finding out more about the enemy that seemed to swarm around the place. She is well informed, and keeps her secrets under tight lock and key. She possesses a certain air of mystery that often leads people wondering just what it is that flows beneath the surface, but her thoughts are certainly not something that she gives up voluntarily.

Michiru is fiercely protective of her loved ones, and often states that she is willing to give up her life for her cause, and their well-being, especially where Haruka and the Princess are concerned. That isn't to say that she jumps into battles recklessly, in fact, she's quite the opposite. Michiru prefers to think things through before bursting onto the scene, and when she is first introduced as a solider, she is often found hiding in the shadows, drawing little attention to herself while trying to gather information about the enemy.

As one can no doubt tell from just looking at her, Michiru is really quite girly. She is well aware of her femininity and is not above using it to her advantage if necessary, either. We see this first hand when, in the anime, she flirts with Seiya to see how far it will go, and also in the manga, when she converses with Mamoru, causing Usagi to feel jealous just by seeing the two of them together. She enjoys wearing dresses and skirts, and as she and the others work together to raise Hotaru, Michiru takes on arguably the most maternal of roles, in terms of ensuring the young girl's health and meal preparation. She is quiet patient with their pseudo-daughter as well, only bothered for a few minutes when she discovers her Royal Copenhagen dishes have been smashed -- and while she cleans up the mess, she only comments that she can't blame Hotaru for being bored and getting into trouble -- based on the way the girl has been rapidly progressing.

As a soldier, Neptune is actually quite confident in her own abilities, and the strength of her allies. She doesn't often lose her cool in a fight (unless there are dire circumstances, obviously) and more than likely, becomes the voice of reason when her sometimes hot-headed partner seems to be taking the opposite route. She thinks on her feet; if something doesn't quite go according to plan, she moves forward to deal with the situation accordingly. She is quite stubborn and doesn't give up, even when it's probably in her best interest to do so, as seen in her constant willingness to sacrifice herself for the sake of the greater good.

Strengths:
Michiru is calm, collected, understanding, and patient. She doesn't often jump to conclusions or result to drastic measures (unless the situation calls for it of course) and instead attempts to approach any situation with a clear head. She is very mature for her age and often acts as a conscience for those around her lacking one (coughharukacough). Of course, she is also very loyal to her teammates, and later on, is shown to have limitless faith in Usagi as well. She trusts them with her life, and would gladly put it on the line to ensure their safety.

Whether thanks to her talisman or her experience in battle, Michiru has become quite intuitive. People around her seem to trust what she has to say and listen to her theories, being that she is usually onto something. She pays close attention to detail, and is not easily fooled. It is difficult to trick or otherwise take advantage of her, as she is usually ontop of those sorts of things and wouldn't allow herself to be caught in that sort of trap. She does not hold back in a fight, and certainly goes the distance to protect the future, for all of them.

Weaknesses:
When Sailorneptune first makes the scene and the others meet her, she comes across as rather cold, and could even be considered harsh. She has a sharp tongue that isn't seen too often as her alter ego, but we see first hand that she is not someone to cross. Repeatedly, she warns the others not to get in their way, and even go so far as to attack them once to show that they are quite serious. Unfortunately, she seems to be rather stubborn and set in her ways, despite the fact that deep down, it almost looks as though there is a desire there to fight alongside the others. Eventually, that unbreakable wall seems to crumble, and she apologizes to the princess, their future queen, Usagi, for the actions that they have taken. She explains to them that their duty must come before all else, and that is how they have lived their lives since times of old in the Silver Millennium. Their mission is the most important thing to her at the time, and she is willing to sacrifice anything, anyone, to see it complete -- as seen when they state that they must kill Hotaru. She does not warm up to the idea that there is any other way to complete it, even though Sailormoon insists otherwise.

While it's usually uncommon to see Michiru lose face, if you push the right buttons, its not impossible to rub her the wrong way. This is seen best when Yaten comments that her choice of lipstick shade is 'trashy' which causes her to pretty much break the stick in annoyance. She doesn't take too kindly to people insulting her or her tastes!
